Run Into the Dark was the first game I was involved with from the initial concepts through to marketing, release and patching. I stepped into this role with limited skills in programming and had focussed a lot of my education studying play, game design and human-computer experiences.
The immediate thing I learned was that game development requires you to be flexible. During the 9 month period I became an adept programmer by studying C# and C++ to build on my coding skills. I also worked on 3D modelling, sound production and promotional work.
With the help of my team we managed to cross skill and help each other to build important development skills. The most important thing to come out of Run Into the Dark was releasing a completed product.
